Beaumont has opened a new clinic offering minimally invasive surgical options for women who have gynecologic conditions, including: uterine fibroids or tumors, ovarian cysts, heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, urinary incontinency and more.

Jay Fisher, M.D., director, Center for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, leads a team of surgeons and support staff at the Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak based clinic. Procedures are done through small incisions allowing for less pain and blood loss, shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery.

As a woman, Daryl Taylor Millender of Detroit always found that while she always had time to take care of others, she didn’t always take the time to care for herself.

But when she was found to have high blood pressure, she made time to take part in a new cardiac disease prevention program at Beaumont that includes instruction on exercise, diet, stress management. The 26-week program, Women Exercising to Live Longer, or WELL, made a huge difference in her life.
