While most babies stay in the delivery room with mom, both Royal Oak and Troy facilities have a Special Care Nursery equipped to handle premature or ill newborns. And, should the need arise, Beaumont, Royal Oak, has a state-of-the-art, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to treat critically ill or severely premature newborns. In addition to neonatologists on call 24 hours a day, physicians in 13 pediatric specialties are here to help a baby with special needs.
For complicated cases, our High-Risk Pregnancy Program offers consultations and second opinions to you and your obstetrician. We can answer questions, explain conditions, provide testing, and help you and your baby from conception to delivery.
